  • I grew up with a mom, dad, and an artist brother. My brother, Patrick, was always the artist, creative kid, whether he was making a song or making a piece of art to hang in our living. I was just the average cheerleader who cared about school, family, friends, and doing my sport. Then my sophmore year of high school came and it all changed. 2018 was when I found out I had an astrocytoma tumor in my brain, I was speechless. I eventually had to undergo a craniotomy and I have never been the same person since, but it gave me something. It gave me the love for art. I noticed this when I randomly grabbed a pencil and began doodling. I looked up tutorials and moved to watercolors, then acrylics, then to digital art. I knew I used art as my form of therapy, but I also discovered that a part of my brain was triggered during surgery and that is how I turned into the person I am today.
  • I am currently majoring in Communications and Digital Art. When I first starting applying to colleges, my main goal in life was to help others so majoring in nursing was my dream. Unfortunately, I did not get into MSUs nursing classes, but I did at every other school I applied to; which makes my decision quite funny! Once I had switched my major and knew what I wanted to do forever, my decision was easily made. I knew Montclair State University was the college I needed. My academic goals that I will accomplish this year range from graduating to having my own business and being my own boss. Getting to my ending goal will not be easy, but it is what I want and I know it’ll make me happy and successful, so I will push until I get there. But in the meantime, I will be focusing my time and dedication to learning more and highly passing all my courses. Something exciting that is connected to my future happened this year. I had a business meeting and was announced producer and co-founder of a new, active, creative website. It is a website that contains almost everything I want to do in my future, art! Having this new life gave me another job, along with pizza delivering, more friends, and to make money by doing my passion.
  • My passion is to create something no one has had and to make people smile when they look at it everyday. Art is filled with so many questions and answers so being able to put that into colors on a canvas makes me feel so content and satisfied. I currently make all sorts of things like stickers, clothes, phone cases, bags, ornaments, keychains, and soon shoes! Here is one thing I have created:
  • In 10 to 15 years, my dream job would be to have my own steady business. I would prefer to be in a location like Long Beach Island, or somewhere warm where tourists often go. The main reason for that is because it would bring in so much business since they often walk around the small town and stop in places they are attracted to. I would sell items like the ones I currently make, but even better and with a bigger team. The reason I think I will be able to get to my dream job is because of how motivated I already am, at the age of eighteen.
  • Grit is something everyone needs. Grit pushes people. It is when you have the courage and perseverance to lead to success. I personally think I am very gritty. By this, I mean that I try my best to get better at what I love and even if I accidentally mess up or break something, I don’t stop and quit. My motivation just comes from what I have been through. I want my fears to be replaced by my future and to never look back and regret quitting.
